Frequently Asked Questions
It can completely change how a property feels.Daytime photography shows the property clearly. Twilight can show the atmosphere buyers may not see during a daytime showing: warm interior lights, reflections on the water, an illuminated deck, landscape lighting, a glowing fireplace or the view as the sun disappears. For the right property, it creates the kind of image that can make someone stop scrolling.Twilight isn’t about making the sky colourful. It’s about showing another side of the property.
Properties that come alive later in the day.Waterfront homes, luxury properties, homes with large windows, outdoor living spaces, landscape lighting, pools, hot tubs and west-facing views can all be strong candidates. But price alone doesn't determine whether a property needs twilight. Sometimes a modest waterfront home with an incredible sunset benefits more than a much more expensive property. If we don’t think twilight will add enough to the listing, we’ll tell you.
Yes. Both have their place.A twilight edit transforms a daytime exterior photograph into a twilight look and can be a great option when time, budget or scheduling doesn't allow for a separate evening shoot.A real twilight session lets us capture what is actually happening at the property as the light changes: illuminated windows, reflections, landscape lighting, water, fire features and the natural colour of the sky.For properties where the evening experience is part of what you're selling, real twilight gives us much more to work with.
Usually, no. They do different jobs.Daytime photography gives buyers a clear understanding of the home, property and surroundings. Twilight is about mood, atmosphere and creating a few standout images. For the right listing, using both gives you a more complete story of the property.Day shows them the property. Twilight shows them how it can feel.
We can plan for the light, but we can’t manufacture the weather. We look at the property, its orientation and the forecast before the shoot. Even without a dramatic sunset, soft evening light can still produce beautiful images if the property itself works well at twilight. If the conditions aren't going to give us what we need, we would rather adjust the plan than force the shot.
